A must read for youtr muscles

I recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in improving their physical fitness through structured workouts. I was interested in this book because I come from a family of body builders and competitors, so it is a family interest. The reviews I have read all said positive things about this book. One review stated, "The book makes perfect sense... it was very helpful". The reason I chose this book is because I chose this book is because it was one of my personal interests and the reviews had nothing but positive words. The author used many different devices in order to persuade the reader. For example this quote, "Many people read magazines, watch TV, listen to music, and chat away on their cell phones to take their minds off their workouts," is an overgeneralization because every person finds ways to distract themselves from their workouts, when it is not the case for all people. The book was very thorough and valid for the most part except one piece that caught my eye: "not only is isolation not necessary, it's not even possible". This statement is not valid, and is very biased. I know many professional body builders who use isolation as a main piece of their workouts to maximize the effect of the workout on the specific muscles. After all of the information I have gained from the book, and all of the reviews I have read, I would recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in improving their physical fitness through structured workouts, and not for people who don't share this common interest. Controlling fatigue at 72 Years old.

I have been following the EDT program since early March...3 days a week for 45 minutes of intense exercise. I am 72 years old and have been weight training since I was 66 years old to stay fit, battle the bulge, and maintain better health.I really like the intensity, the time limits, and the need to plan a routine. Most importantly I am much less fatigued than the traditional pump and grind program caused. I recommend the book and the program highly.Great for home work outs and for time short persons.

Simple, yet extremely effective...........

For those of you whom have tried everything or those of you that have tried nothing you need not look any further for the answer to achieving tremendous strength, size and speed. You cannot simply discount the simplistic nature of this book, because it truly teaches you how to trick the physiology and biochemistry of your body. What are we ultimately trying to do when we workout? We are trying to go against our body's natural desire to pack on size, muscularity and strength. Our body does not see and know what we are doing when we train to become warriors it only knows biological, physiological and neurological processes and stimuli. It does not look in the mirror and know how to make you stronger, bigger and faster. You know what you want to achieve and you must know how to manipulate the bodies desire to fight your fitness goals and EDT shows you how. If you are stuck on complicated workout recipes that have proven to be effective for short periods of times then do not get this book. EDT gives you a simplistic approach to achieve great accomplishments in fitness whether you want to get big and strong or lean and mean or any combination of the aforementioned. The complexity in trying to reach your genetic potential is not in the training program, but built within your own biology and you only need a simplistic, yet effective approach on how to best understand to accomplish and measure your fitness goals. EDT shows you how to create you own individual program to keep you on track and it shows you how to stay on track. This program is flexible and has the ability to be easily tailored to the individual needs of almost any trainee. Why is it that one person can take medication A for High Blood Pressure while another person is taking medication B and yet they both are getting phenomenal results? This is where EDT differs from the rest of the programs out there because it can be easily tailored, structured and adjusted to fit almost everyone and the books show you how. Buy this book and learn why this has become one of the most popular and effective programs in the world. Google Escalating Density Training on the net and you will be hard pressed to find one intelligent person who does not swear by EDT. Charles Staley is not a genius, but he has developed an ingenious program that is extremely effective and easily understood. Good luck and I will see you at the gym working hard for every inch and every pound with MY personalized EDT program!

Excellent Book

The level of intensity of one of these workouts does not come out in written word. While you will be able to get done with your workout in well under half the time, you may be laying on the ground in exhaustion during the time you saved. I have followed Charles Staley since his Muscle Media days and as always he comes across as very knowledgeable and professional and writes in a no-B.S. manner. Sure to allow you to make new progress in your lifting efforts. Overall a great book!

Incredibly Effective

... and intense. I just started training with this method and immediately became a huge fan. The workouts are only 15 minutes long the first few weeks, but they are very effective. Plus, they really tax the cardiovascular system, so they're great for the heart as well. In general, you alternate two exercises for opposing muscle groups, starting with sets of 5 reps and doing as many sets as possible in the time frame. Every workout is a competition to beat the number of reps you did last time. So, it's great for stoking the competitive fires during training. I'm only 3 weeks into this program and I can already feel and see the changes in my body. And this is after working out seriously for two years now on other methods. I highly recommend this book!
